At Trencherman‘s, we are dedicated to supplying fine wines, foods and associated products to The Trade and direct to the consumer. We are especially strong in foods and wines from France, but have excellent selections of British, Spanish and Italian products. Since the business was launched over thirty years ago we have gradually selected a wide range of tried and tested products and have specialist knowledge as good as anyone in our field.

We provide wines for weddings and parties on sale or return and can lend glasses for larger gatherings. We do not have a Product List, but if you would like any information about anything in particular, we can probably give it to you.

Trencherman’s is a veritable Aladdin’s Cave for the gourmet with a large selection of foods and wines to suit the most discerning palate. Many of our foods we import direct and are not available elsewhere and the same goes for some of our wines which we source direct from the grower. We have a fantastic selection of cheeses made from cow’s, sheep’s and goat’s milk, and an outstanding selection of less obtainable artisan cheeses with biscuits, oatcakes and breads to accompany them. Our salamis and patés are superb, as are our hams and cold meats including Parma Ham, Serrano Ham and Iberico Ham to name but a few. We make our own frozen cooked meals in addition to stocking Cook’s excellent range. In our kitchen, we make the best Quiches and Pizzas as well as a good selection of savoury and sweet tarts. Other things to look out for are: our selection of game and poultry; our olives and superb crisps cooked in olive oil; our smoked salmon and other fish; our boulangerie and patisserie products; our chutneys and pickles; our exquisite selection of chocolates; our fruits in alcohol. Non-food lines include a good selection of greetings cards; local pottery; some specialist kitchenware; tablecloths; candles. At Christmas-time, in addition to a mass of other things, we supply superb fresh geese and turkeys and home-cooked hams on or off the bone. We also make up bespoke hampers and Christmas gifts for business or family and friends.

Trencherman’s Club is exclusive. Everybody who shops here is a member and can enjoy the many and varied benefits of membership. For a mere £15 a year (or £60 for 5 years which saves you at least £15), you may purchase goods from Trencherman’s, where parking is no problem and where we will carry your shopping to the car for you. As you will discover, old fashioned service and top quality products are at the top of our list of priorities. Regular newsletters give details of new products, special offers, details of Tastings, recipes and reviews of local and not so local restaurants. Members also receive discounts at a number of the best restaurants in this area.

Once a member, we can arrange for food or drink to be sent as presents to friends, relatives or business acquaintances. We specialise in sending smoked salmon at Christmas-time, but can send virtually anything almost anywhere, with carriage at cost. You don’t need to live close to Sherborne to benefit from this service, since delivery is by next day carrier.

Trencherman’s members are invited to a number of Tastings each year in order to sample a selection of gourmet foods and wines, and to have a leisurely browse through our sales area.

We have close links with several local caterers and can give free advice on which caterer to choose to suit your particular requirement, be it a wedding, a buffet or a small dinner party. We can also recommend flower arrangers and even musicians for weddings, funerals or parties.

Finally, since we have been in the business for many years, should you have any special requests for unusual foods, the chances are that we may well be able to locate them for you.
